RULES FOR ASSIGNING ACTIVITY POINTS

Apart from technical knowledge and skills, to be successful as professionals, students should have excellent soft skills, leadership qualities and team spirit. They should have entrepreneurial capabilities and societal commitment. In order to nurture these qualities, KTU has introduced activity points to be earned by the students during their academic stay at the University covering extra-curricular and cocurricular activities. All students have to earn a minimum of 100 activity points from various activity segments listed to qualify for the B.Tech degree. Two credits are given for this on a pass/ fail basis and is mandatory for getting the B.Tech Degree. As no grade is given for these two credits, they are not included in the CGPA calculation. For lateral entry students joining from the third semester, the activity point requirement is 75. Points earned by the student will be indicated in the consolidated academic statement. Colleges shall consolidate the activity points earned by students on a semester basis and enter the consolidated points on an academic year basis in the KTU portal. In case of NSS and NCC, points can be entered after the completion of two-year Programme. The portal for this will only be open for a specific time period. All documental proof for awarding the activity points should be obtained and kept with the college authorities to be verified by the Academic Auditor.

THE MAIN ACTIVITY SEGMENTS ARE AS GIVEN BELOW:

  1. National Initiatives
  2. Sports & Games
  3. Cultural Activities
  4. Professional Self Initiatives
  5. Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  6. Leadership & Management
The following table gives the list of activities under each of these segments, the level of achievement expected, activity points, evidence needed to assign the points and the minimum duration needed for certain activities. Additional activities falling under these segments can be considered, if requested by the college with full details. However this has to be approved by the Academic Committee of the KTU.

Keam Rank Predictor : A Must Read Article Before Estimating Your Kerala Entrance Ranks

Another entrance season is coming.Hence the season for KEAM rank predictor is on.I write this post because there are eagle's eyes around you who want to make money out of you. It's human nature to seek future and the same you want to know how much will be your rank, this eagerness is what those predictor moron's greatest weapon. And it's your stupidity what fuel them.Do you think that they can predict your rank??.What a shame!!!.I don't want to hurt any one but I want to have you people wisdom. The following will estimate ranks as different predictor sites

Exam
Enter your Keam marks:out of 960
Select your +2 stream :
Enter marks in Physics:out of 120
Enter marks in Chemistry:out of 120
Enter marks in Mathematics:out of 100

Kerala Engineering and (Architecture) Medical Entrance Exam rank list are prepared from various factors not just from KEAM score and PLUS TWO Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics marks. From prospectus itself it is well known. The other factors that are used for estimation of rank is the

  • Scheme of your higher secondary education (CBSE,STATE,ICSE,ISE...etc)
  • The mark giving pattern that followed (in at least last five years)
  • Student performance pattern
  • Average score in PCM (Even if the student does not Wrote exam!!, i.e, Entire students who wrote that particular board exam )
  • Number of appearance taken ( Have negligible point, but will not be neglected! )
  • Entrance Question Paper Pattern : As like students, questions pattern and toughness changes year after an year
  • Valid and Invalid Questions amount: Some of the questions will be neglected after the exam since they are not valid (in 2015 about 4 questions are removed from Kerala Engineering Entrance,And 3 From Medical entrance)
And many more (about hundreds unknown/unpublished factors). Most of the sites uses last rank and their approximation to make you believe.
Mathrubhumi just used it as an experiment in 2011 then they wind up. But then on wards others started their works. So be cautious and never believe in those hands.

KeamHelper Algorithm

It uses an average of your KEAM mark, That's all then use random call. If you look into script you may find that they use same strategy for CBSE and ICSE !!. All other boards have state boards results. Never get trapped. Never supply your keam password to any other sites than official keam website.

KeralaEngineeringEntrance Algorithm

What will you call it? only simple switch case to match Keam marks entered. How could you deceive students so badly!! What a shame that future engineers believe it, Mostly?? Please open your eyes my friends.

ACETVM Keam Rank Prediction Algorithm

Huh!! Another one from an engineering college itself. Have you read their google snippet? It says like this "This predictor is created by our statistical experts". Just look at their prediction results. You can easily find out it is a merging of above two algorithm. Please keep your standards Students.

Parinama Keam rank

Nothing to say. Have a board " Beware of Donkeys " !!.

Mathrubhumi Rank Predictor

Already stopped in 2011 and officially confirmed ranks cannot be predicted and made their apology. Hats off!!.

There are a lot other. The only thing I have to say to students and others is " JAHO GRAHAG JAHO!!". Nothing more.

Yours Faithfully,
A previous Donkey (Now going to be an engineering graduate, hihi :-):-))
